Welcome to my blog! 

Hi! I’m Margarita — a language lover, teacher, and storyteller from Lima, Peru, now living in the Czech Republic.

This blog started as a place to explore my journey through teaching, translation, and life between cultures. But it quickly became something more personal — a space to reflect on motherhood, expat life, and the little moments that shape who we are.

I’m a single mom, a full-time teacher, and a woman who believes in the beauty of honest stories. I write about everyday life as a language teacher abroad, the joy (and chaos) of raising a daughter far from home, and the real kind of rest we all deserve after a long school year. I sometimes share insights on language learning, too — but this is not a grammar blog. It’s a real-life one.

Why Learn Spanish in 2025?

People no longer need to commute to work every day. New generations are eager to work from anywhere — as long as they have a laptop. Generation Z and other new voices are reshaping the world we know. In this context, developing strong communication skills is more important than ever — not only in our mother tongue, but in other languages as well. Thanks to the internet and mass media, there’s no excuse not to learn at least one foreign language. In the Czech Republic, where I’ve been living since 2009, two foreign languages are mandatory throughout the school years. This Summer Isn’t Edited: A Single Mom’s Reality Check

It’s different. Not edited, not perfect — but full of small, real moments. I’m a single mom. I’m a teacher. I’m also an expat. That means summer isn’t just a break. It’s time to breathe again. For me, rest doesn’t mean planning another big adventure. It means silence, space, and doing… nothing for a while. Just a glass of prosecco, a bit of Baileys on the rocks (not an ad 😄), a series I love, and hugs from my daughter. That’s the summer I need. Here’s the thing: I love to travel. I really do.
